Shakespeare in Sandaime Richard (NIDA 2023)

For this project I made a 30cm radius ruff, doublet and harem style pants. 

In making the ruff I researched traditional, period accurate ruff construction. The ruff was all hand sewn and hand pleated out of sinamay and organza.  

The doublet is made of a base of mid-weight cotton with dyed linen gathered and backed onto the cotton. The doublet was made with gussets sewn into the underarm to allow for the fight scenes in the show. 

The pants have organza gussets sewn into slashes down the pants, and have elasticated cuffs and back of the waistband to again allow for movement in the fight scenes.
