Girlfriend's Dress in The Writer (NIDA 2023)

This dress was made for the June 2023 production of The Writer at NIDA (Directed by Zoe Hollyoak). 

The dress was made for is a petite actress, so throughout the make I was focused on making sure it fit perfectly on her body whilst allowing for the range of movement she required. 

This dress was an exercise in draping and adaption skills. The dress was draped as it was made from stretch fabrics. Throughout the fitting process I had to modify the construction of the dress so the actress would be able to crawl around without damaging the dress.

Materials: Stretch Metallic Mesh, Glitter Velvet, Sports Mesh, Spiral Boning.
